*I have a show coming up at the Suite 100 Gallery in Seattle. Their holiday exhibition, "Sweet 100," opens on Friday, November 14th, so if you're in the area go check it out. There will be a lot of work there to purchase at affordable prices for the holidays including a brand new piece from me ^_^.

Here is a video from the "Crazy for Cult: This Time Its Personal," group show at Gallery 1988 in LA. My good friend and old roommate, Danielle Rizzolo, flew out for the opening and you can see her interview with Vimby on here. And towards the end of the video a quick shot of my piece "Edward Safety Scissor Hands." ^_^

I"M CURATING MY FIRST SHOW!!! So you ALL BETTER BE THERE ^_^! The "HOME grown" show will include over 20 artists (including myself) who have graciously agreed to be a part of my first curated show at the Jinxed Gallery, in Philadelphia, PA. Each artist is putting one or two pieces in and it should be a huge turn out. The "HOME grown" show opens September 19th from 6-11pm and will be up for five weeks. So please come and check it out! (there will be food and beverages as well)

So I've decided that it would be nice to start putting some of my sketches on this "news" section and make it more like a blog, then just a show posting page. So here is a sketch of my next painting for "Crazy 4 Cult 2: This Time It's Personal," at Gallery 1988 in LA. It's "Edward Safety Scissorhands." ^_^ Edward Scissorhands as a little boy with his safety scissors.

I recently got back from Portland, OR were I was invited to be one of six artists chosen by Nike 6.0  and Bob Kronbauer (G2 artist mentor), to take a Nike G2 vinyl toy and apply my own artistic aesthetic. I chose to turn my G2 into my version of a Native American Kachina doll. *Above is the video that we premiered at our opening out in Portland, OR at Nemo Designs. Along with eight G2's to mess with, each artists was given a digital video camera to document our progress and vision.

So Im really looking forward to this one, "TOYS" (sponsored by Mattel) will be at the Gallery 1988 in LA, and so will I, making my annual trip out to CA. I am incredibly excited to be a part of this next show curated by Alex Gartelmann at The My House Gallery 2534 S. 8th St. Philadelphia, PA. The show is entitled "Art Glut." *the opening is February 15th from 5:30-8:30pm. * the show will run until February 17th *gallery hours sat & sun 10:00am-3:00pm *there will be over 30 artist The exhibition Art Glut takes the idea of access and information overload and applies it to the installation of a large amount of work by a large field of artists for the space alloted. The viewer is put in a position where they are confronted with a large amount of visual information. They can then choose how to respond to their situation by examining and deciphering their way through the space and work, choosing only what immediately draws their attention, or ignoring the situation completely.

So I know I'm totally late with this one but its still up so if you're in the area check it out. This show will be up until Feb. 1st. at the Gallery 1988 in LA, CA. I wasn't lucky enough to be able to make it out to the opening and meet stan lee, but I did find out that my piece sold to, none other then, Drew Goddard, who wrote "Cloverfeilds," and who writes for the tv show "Lost." check out the line for the opening!

So I've got a great group show coming up that I'm Really excited about. The show is entitled "Tree Trimmings II, The Ornament Show," and it will feature hand made ornaments from some amazing artists that I'm really proud to be hanging with. This show will be at the JFlynn Gallery in Costa Mesa, CA. The opening is December 1st. and the show will run until Dec. 22nd. So make sure to check it out :)

My next group show, entitled "Wishful Thinking," will be at the Project Gallery in Culver City, CA. This show, sponsored by Juxtapoz Magazine, will be a unique Holiday Card show, just in time for the giving season. In addition to the original works for sale, prints will be made into Holiday cards for purchase. Proceeds from this show will go to the Make a Wish Foundation. The opening is Saturday, December 1st. from 7-11pm. and will be up for a month.

My next group show, that I am proud to say I will be a part of, will be at the Sweet 100 Gallery in Seattle, WA. This show, entitled, The Holiday Show, will exhibit one hundred works of art by thirty-six artists, perfect for the gift-giving season. With an array of many of Suite 100's favorite artists, both returning artists and new, this eclectic salon-style show will have something for everyone. From oils and acrylics to gouache and ink, from photography to screen prints, "The Sweet 100" draws from the best in a variety of mediums. Additionally, part of the proceeds from Sweet 100 will be donated to Child's Play Charity. The opening is on Nov. 9th from 6-11pm. and the show will be up until December 21st.

So ive got my second solo show in the great city of Philadelphia on Oct. 05th from 7-10pm at Liberty Boards on 7th St. between Market and Chestnut. The show is called "Indian Summer," and this will be my first installation show and im pretty pumped about it. Hope to see you there enjoying the last few dog days of summer.

Hey guys I've got some work in a new group show hanging at the 1988 Gallery in LA. The show is titled "Crazy for Cult",and every artist involved was given a list of cult classic movies to choose from and do a piece about. My personal choice was, "The Professional." This show is gonna be a big one, its already been getting pretty good press (so ive heard), and I am sure it will be a great opening. The opening is on July 17th from 7-11pm and the show runs until August 10th. So if your in the LA area check it out.

Hey kids, so i have a new group show coming up that I will have a few pieces in. Its in San Fran :) which I'm stoked on because I have yet to have my work in shown there before. Anywho the show is called, "Back for Seconds" and its at Gallery 1988 SF . The opening is Friday June 29th from 7-10pm (wish i could be there!) and the show will be up until July 28th so check it out if you get the chance it should be pretty sweet there are some great artists involved!

My next show will be at the F.U.E.L. Gallery (the old real world house) on the corner of 3rd. and Arch in Old City Philadelphia, PA. "Across the Sea," opening on March 16th from 6-9pm, will be up until April 6th. Its going to be a large group illustration show and I expect to see all of Philly there as its going to be an amazing show of some of the most talented artist i know, a large group of which are from right here in Philadelphia!

Well he asked me to join him and about 50 or so other amazing artist for the Sq. Foot show that Blaine is curating and will be participating in, at the Think Space Gallery located in Los Angeles, California. The opening will be November 10th from 7-11pm. I am honored to be to participating in the annual Patrick Kerr Skateboard Scholarship. Its a great cause with some truley amazing artists taking part. Artists like: Ben Woodward, Andrew Jeffery, Thom Lessner, Jim Houser, Bill McRight, Alex Curtis, Miriam Singer, Tyler Kline, John Freeborn and Mike Stein, to name a few, along with myself, will be creating an original piece of art on a deck provided and sponcered by ZOO YORK.
